Macallister was surrendered to a local shelter because he was coughing. The shelter consulted with a cardiologist. The cardiologist does not see evidence for congestive heart failure however this could be a possibility in the future. Macallister was put on Vetmedin daily to delay the progression. Fortunately for us it is the same cartiologist we use and he will have his check up there in 6 months paid for by our rescue.

Unfortunately we can not predict the future but this dog is happy, loving and fun. He is 8 years old and 20 pounds. He loves his toys and has quite a lot of energy. It appears that he was not well taken care of prior to coming to the shelter, he had to be groomed, neutered and brought UTD with shots.
