Cleo, a 28 pound Plott hound mix, was surrendered by her owner to a NC high kill shelter.  She was lovingly cared for and returned with her pretty blue harness.  We can't believe such an awesome girl was given up.

Her NJ foster family is in love with her and says this about Cleo:

This little girl is the whole package.  Super smart, a quick learner, house trained, crate trained, good in the car and takes treats nicely.  She is just as sweet as can be and a super cuddler.

She is good with young children, energetic and will play fetch all day.    She LOVES to play with other dogs of all sizes and if she could have an active dog sibling, trips to a dog park or a regular doggie playmate she would be the happiest girl.  She will share a bone and her toys with other dogs too.

When she isn't playing around she likes exploring on walks, she can entertain herself with her toys, she will even tug a rope toy with another dog, eat bones and shreds her stuffies to find a squeaker (like any good hound mix).

Cleo was brought to the shelter because her owners said she was allergic to chicken. Our NJ veterinarian and her foster mom do not see evidence of this allergy but are being cautious with chicken in her diet and have no issue.
